Tehran to host Intl. Holy Quran Exhibition

TEHRAN – The 24th International Holy Quran Exhibition, promoting the motto “Toward Understanding the Holy Quran”, will open at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla today, the first day of the holy month of Ramadan. 

A wide range of programs and cultural activities have been arranged during the exhibit, which is due to run until June 28, the Public Relations Office of the Mosalla announced in a press release published on Monday. 

Top Quran reciters and memorizers together with young Quran reciters will recite the holy verses of the Quran during the sessions set before and after evening azan.

A large exhibition offering Quranic products, books and artworks with the central theme of the Quran such as paintings, carpet tableaus and Quranic software as well as Islamic costumes will also be on display.

In addition, according to Asghar Amirnia, a Culture Ministry official in charge of Quranic affairs, about 70 artists will be holding workshops in different artistic courses during the exhibit.

He also said that rare copies of Holy Quran, picked from different museums across the country such as the National Museum of the Quran in Tehran, Tehran’s Imam Ali (AS) Religious Arts Museum, and the Museum of Hazrat Masumeh (SA) in Qom, will be shown in the exhibit.
